Hello, and welcome.

Before you read on, I’d love to introduce myself.

Alex Wallash

Executive COACH
MA-ODL, PCC

I’m an executive coach, facilitator, and former founder. I’m a board president, a community builder, and a husband. I’m a son, a brother, and a loyal friend. I’m a dog dad, a surfer, an athlete, and a naturalist. I paint with oils and DJ on weekends. Like you, I hold a wide range of identities, and all of them show up in the room when I’m coaching.

When I was 21, a near-death accident stopped me in my tracks and forced me to ask what I was actually here for. The answer that came back was clear: to bring people together and connect in the present moment, with themselves and with each other. That purpose led me to co-found a brewery, where I spent the better part of a decade building teams, creating departments, developing products, and learning what leadership really feels like from the inside. All things considered, we were quite successful. We were profitable from our second year on. We won seven awards at the most prestigious beer competitions in the world, and in 2016 we were even ranked the number 16 best brewery in the world (out of 20,000+ breweries) with over 100,000 votes on the platform Untappd. Leadership looked great on the outside, but on the inside I got what felt like twenty years of leadership experience in ten. Pretty quickly I realized I was spending less and less time thinking about the product and more and more time thinking about how to build teams and a culture where our business could truly thrive. When my teams were functioning well, I loved it. When they were struggling, it kept me up at night. My own growth as a leader even went through a period of burnout, and as painful as burnout was, I learned an enormous amount from that experience.

Toward the end of that chapter, I realized something was missing. I wanted to do more than bring people together. I also wanted to have a net positive impact on the world. That realization is what eventually led me to coaching and leadership development. I believe deeply in the amplifier effect of leadership development. When a leader grows, the people around them grow too, their teams, their colleagues, the families they go home to. That ripple effect is what lights me up about this work every single day.

My approach as a coach and facilitator is grounded in emotional intelligence and adult development. In practice that means paying attention to both the visible and the invisible, your behaviors and your beliefs, your actions and the thinking that drives them. I work with individuals one-on-one and with teams in group settings, and in both contexts I care deeply about creating a space that feels safe enough for honesty and spacious enough for real growth.

Clients describe the personal experience as both transformative and immediately practical. What comes up consistently is presence, deep listening, and an ability to create genuine trust that allows real honesty to surface. Leaders speak to walking away with greater clarity, greater confidence, stronger communication, better decision-making, and a more grounded sense of how to manage the inevitable stress of leadership. The growth doesn’t stay in the coaching session. It shows up in how leaders lead every day.

I hold an M.A. in Organization Development and Leadership from Fielding Graduate University, an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, and the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential through the International Coaching Federation. I am also certified to debrief the Global Leadership Profile assessment, a trained meditation facilitator, and currently serve as President of the ICF San Francisco Bay Area Charter Chapter.

When I’m not coaching, you’ll find me hiking mountain trails with my partner Brittany and our two dogs Pickles McDiggles and Bilbo Waggins, or chasing waves along the California coast. At home I tend to a growing collection of 30+ houseplants, get lost in sci-fi and fantasy novels, and unwind to house music. I’m currently a beginner student of both tai chi and oil painting, which is a humbling and delightful reminder of what it feels like to be at the very start of learning something new.
